It has been a long time since I posted, so long that we are over half way towards having twins in June! Here are some ultrasound pictures of the babies to tide you over until I find some time to write again. We affectionately call them "Alpha" and "Beta" since they are termed A and B by the doctors and technicans.

It's been a while, and we've been busy
The summer has been really busy for Jason and I. I can't say why I haven't been posting, but I just never feel like working up something quirky to say. Tomorrow we leave on vacation, and I shall try to post as we go along visiting four different states and the District of Columbia as we attend two weddings and meet our new nephew.
We just got back from a weekend in Seattle after a couple conferences I attended. We split a hotel room with our friends Jessica and Dany and spent a day walking all around the city. It was amazing, but not quite like Vancouver. Friday night we had a great time on the Underground Seattle Tour and enjoyed some live jazz. By Saturday evening we were pretty tired, but we managed to hit 3 different bars including an amazing whiskey place. Here are some of our favorite picks.

Thirty
It has been coming for a while, but now it is past. I'm thirty and have been for a couple weeks. Jason and I celebrated the big day with a wonderful dinner at Seasons in the Park at Queen Elizabeth Park here in Vancouver. I spent all day at a conference and really enjoyed the time to relax with Jason. Jason's present was a new pair of earrings and matching necklace
(right) which I adore and would wear every day if it wouldn't become obvious that I was always wearing the same jewelry.Jason bought
me this fabulous chocolate truffle cake from our local French bakery. It was delicious. Mom and Dad got me a bunch of gifts, not the least of which was a new pair of flip-flops.My biggest change with turning 30 was getting a new hair-style. One of my co-workers insisted that I make an appointment at her hair salon and finally color my grey hairs as I've been talking about doing since I moved here. I think the results are pretty great!
Now we are looking forward to Jason's birthday in a few weeks!

Aunt Danielle & Uncle Jason
Oh, that sounds weird. Jason's sister Tiffany had Cullen Charles Oxford yesterday, May 13th. Both mom and baby are doing fine down in Florida. We expect them home Sunday, if not Saturday. Cullen was 6lbs 14oz, 20in at birth with all his fingers and toes. He looks like Derek with all the dark hair, but we are eagerly awaiting more pictures from Mimi and Grandpappy before making a final decision. Early front-runner nicknames are "Ozzy" from great-aunt Cindy and "Chuck" from Jason.

Next Week
Our nephew is scheduled to arrive next Thursday, May 13th. We are super excited for Tiffany and Derek to finally meet Cullen. Cross your fingers that all goes well. I am a bit sad that Cullen won't share Megan and I's birthday at the end of the month, but every generation has to be different, I suppose.

Footnotes on the Weekend
Work consumes us, but a couple things to note from the weekend:
1. Comment after visit to the dog park where the dog clearly revealed that he is not fond of water: The hot air in the dog's head will probably keep him afloat, so what's he worried about?
2. We survived two trips to IKEA in the same day and spent less than $200. Winner!
3. It's NHL playoff season. The NHL playoff commercials are amazing. My favorites are the Bobby Orr and Patrick Roy ones.
4. Jason and I now demand to go ice fishing. And we want to catch a big one. Check it out below.
